Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon

On an oval embroidered item, at base a pair of yellow elevated wings with scarlet details, surmounted by a yellow Roman cuirass, overall in the center a sword, point up, with a black hilt, pommel and hand guard, with a white blade, dark blue stripe in the middle, surmounted on the hand guard a yellow star bearing a white star outlined black; all within a yellow border.  Overall dimensions are 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in height and 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in width.

Symbolism

The oval shaped insignia alludes to the continuous cycle of support to all Soldiers.  The gold wings with the red details indicate the bloodshed by the Soldiers in the defense of the nation's freedom.  The Roman cuirass denotes security.  The sword symbolizes military preparedness.  The detail in the middle of the blade illustrates the Twin Towers, signifying the attacks that transformed the Army Reserve to an operational force widely used in the Global War on Terrorism.  The star placed at the base represents ground zero.  It serves to remind us that the foundation of the Army Reserve strength is built upon its Citizen Warriors.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally approved for the US Army Reserve Careers Division on 3 September 2009. The insignia was redesignated for the US Army Reserve Careers Group on 25 November 2020.  (TIOH Dwg. No. A-1-1013)




Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned as follows:  Per fess Azure and Gules, on a fess Argent between in chief the bust of a Minute Man in cocked hat Or (Gold) and in base a musket with bayonet and sword, in saltire, points up, of the last, two mullets Argent (Silver Gray); all with a bordure Or.  Attached below the shield a Dark Blue scroll inscribed "ENIHILUM PARUM" in Silver.

Symbolism
Dark blue signifies the branch color of the Adjutant General Corps.  The bust of the Minute Man in chief, adapted from the Seal of the Army Reserve, represents patriotism.  Red denotes valor and the bloodshed in mission accomplishment.  The musket with bayonet links the origin of the Army Reserve to the Army Reserve Careers Division.  The sword indicates military preparedness.  The fess refers to the readiness to serve the nation.  The stars refer to the authority of the Division to serve Army Reserve Soldiers worldwide.  The border symbolizes distinction.  The motto translates to "Never Enough."
